INFINITE at Automotive Interiors Expo 2024

From November 12th to 14th, the Automotive Interiors Expo 2024 brought together hundreds of visitors and around 130 exhibitors at Messe Stuttgart, Germany, to showcase the latest innovations and trends in the automotive sector. The Functional Print Cluster participated as a co-organizer of the joint delegation, in collaboration with the ICEX Berlin Office.

On November 11th, ahead of the Expo, we visited the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where we attended presentations by esteemed professors and researchers, including Prof. Dr. Nathalie Matter-König, Prof. Dr. Jasmin Aghassi-Hagmann, and Alexander Colsmann, among others. The topics ranged from organic solar cells and photodetectors to printed materials, solutions for printed and organic electronics, and the opportunities provided by the institute’s Nanotechnology platform (KNMFi). This visit offered valuable insights into KIT’s approach to technology transfer, innovation, internal organization, and work planning.

The Expo commenced on November 12th, where we engaged in meetings with ICEX representatives and the Berlin Commercial Office, toured the exhibition, and held discussions with exhibitors, companies, collaborators, and international clusters present at the event. These activities provided a comprehensive overview of the sector, its innovation landscape, and technology transfer developments.

On the second day, November 13th, alongside participating in the Expo and visiting companies within Germany’s automotive ecosystem, we took part in the Innovation Stage. This platform highlighted the capabilities of the Spanish companies within the joint stand co-organized by ICEX and the Functional Print Cluster. The participating companies showcased innovative solutions, some of which are already on the market, presenting their expertise to attendees. Additionally, they joined a panel discussion on sustainability, moderated by Mr. Lucinio Muñoz, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Spanish Embassy in Berlin.

Throughout the Expo, the Functional Print Cluster actively promoted, communicated, and disseminated the European INFINITE project during meetings and events with potential stakeholders. This engagement was instrumental in reinforcing the Cluster’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration within the automotive industry.
