INFINITE Highlights Skills Development and Industry Collaboration at OE-A Meeting Europe 2026

Düsseldorf, Germany, 13-14 October 2026 – The INFINITE project was presented to members of the printed, flexible and organic electronics (PFOE) community at the OE-A Meeting Europe 2026, hosted by Henkel in Düsseldorf. The event brought together industry leaders, researchers and end users to discuss the latest developments in printed electronics, intelligent sensing systems, robotics, advanced functional surfaces and sustainability.

During the meeting, Dr. Marja Nissinen, Senior Researcher at Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk) and INFINITE Project Manager, introduced the project’s activities aimed at addressing current and future skills needs in the rapidly evolving printed electronics sector.

The presentation highlighted how INFINITE is strengthening Europe’s talent base through industry-driven education and training. The project’s learning portfolio has been developed based on extensive skills needs analyses involving surveys, interviews, workshops and direct feedback from companies across the PFOE value chain. Key competence areas identified include printing technologies, electronics, materials science, manufacturing, quality management and transversal skills such as communication and problem solving.

Participants were also introduced to the INFINITE Skills Ecosystem, which connects industry, education providers and research organisations to support lifelong learning and workforce development. The project offers a growing portfolio of training opportunities, including online courses, webinars, workshops, micro-credentials and hands-on training activities designed for students, researchers and industry professionals.

In addition, the presentation showcased vocational and professional education programmes being developed and implemented by INFINITE partners across Europe. These programmes help build a sustainable talent pipeline for the printed and organic electronics industry by combining industry-relevant knowledge, practical training and continuous upskilling opportunities. Through close collaboration with companies, the programmes ensure that graduates and professionals acquire competencies that match emerging technological and workforce needs.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with stakeholders from across the European printed electronics ecosystem and to discuss how companies can contribute to training development, share industrial use cases and help shape the future workforce of the sector.
