The TechBlick – The Future of Electronics RESHAPED conference, held on October 22–23, 2025, once again brought together the global community of printed, flexible, hybrid, and additive electronics. With over 600 participants, 100 presentations, and nearly 90 exhibitors, it underscored the sector’s rapid transition from research to industrial implementation.
For our INFINITE partners Functional Print, OES, VTT, Printocent, and Associated Partner TU Dresden, the event was a chance to connect with the community driving this transformation and to showcase how education and training can support it. VTT-PrintoCent and TU Dresden took the stage with talks that sparked discussions about how to translate technological advances into the skills future professionals will need.
The program highlighted how major OEMs like Toyota, Panasonic, and Lockheed Martin are embracing additive and flexible manufacturing to create lighter, smarter, and more sustainable components. Materials innovation was another strong focus, from advances in perovskite solar cells and printed organic photovoltaics to new slot-die and multimaterial printing processes. Sustainability took center stage, highlighting lead-free materials, energy-efficient fabrication, and circular manufacturing strategies summarized by the “three Cs”: Cost, Capacity, and Certainty.
For INFINITE, TechBlick offered a unique opportunity to exchange ideas with companies, researchers, and educators who share the same vision: building a strong skills base for a sector that’s rapidly scaling up.
As the discussions in Berlin made clear, printed and additive electronics have reached a turning point. The challenge now is not only to innovate, but to prepare people to bring that innovation to life.
