Spanish Stakeholders Taking Part in PrintoCent Superweek 2026

From 15 to 18 September, a delegation of Spanish stakeholders took part in PrintoCent Superweek 2026, held in Oulu, Finland, within the framework of the Erasmus+-funded European project INFINITE. Accompanied by the Functional Print Cluster and Salesianos Pamplona, representatives from Embega, Implaser, Materialight, Thinex, Cyclops Sinergies, and Eurecat participated in training activities, technical visits, networking and open innovation initiatives related to printed, flexible and organic electronics.

Hands-on Training for Spanish Participants

Participants attended hands-on courses delivered by Oulu University of Applied Sciences (OAMK) and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland on inkjet printing, dispensing and Roll-to-Roll manufacturing. The training was complemented by visits to OSAO, VTT’s PrintoCent Pilot Factory, PrinLab and the University of Oulu, giving the Spanish delegation first-hand access to leading European Printed Intelligence facilities.

“Beyond discovering new machines and processes, it was particularly valuable to share experiences with professionals from the printed electronics sector and gain first-hand insight into other capabilities and ways of working,” says Gonzalo from Embega.

Open Innovation and European Connections at PrintoCent InnoFest

Superweek concluded with PrintoCent InnoFest, where the Spanish delegation worked in international teams alongside companies, researchers, students and investors. Over two days, they developed proposals, received expert feedback and expanded their network, exploring new opportunities for cooperation and commercialisation.

“The format was very informal and provided several opportunities for networking,” says Fernando from Materialight.

The INFINITE Project Strengthens Connections within the Spanish Ecosystem

The initiative strengthened links between the Spanish ecosystem and the Finnish environment led by PrintoCent. The collaboration promoted by INFINITE with PrintoCent, VTT, OSAO and OAMK gives Spanish stakeholders access to specialised knowledge and new opportunities for training, experimentation, innovation and European cooperation.

Next Steps for INFINITE

The visit provided an opportunity to advance the project, learn more about the training courses planned for 2027 and explore student exchanges with Salesianos Pamplona. The affinity between the Spanish and Finnish ecosystems, together with their focus on the industrial application of these technologies, provides a solid foundation for future joint initiatives.

Through initiatives such as PrintoCent Superweek, the project continues to create opportunities for training, collaboration and exchange, connecting companies, technology centres, universities and vocational education and training providers from different countries. The participation of Spanish stakeholders demonstrates the value of this European network in bringing advanced Printed Intelligence capabilities to new stakeholders and supporting their application in real-world contexts.

Spanish stakeholders expect to take part in further training activities through INFINITE in the near future, including modules in the field of PFOE within the German ecosystem too.
