Successful Completion of the ‘Introduction to Functional Printing’ Course

The INFINITE project continues its mission of promoting excellence in intelligent, flexible, and organic electronics with the successful execution of the ‘Introduction to Functional Printing’ course. This specialized training, held at Salesianos Pamplona from March 5th to March 7th, 2025 , brought together 21 educators and industry professionals eager to expand their knowledge in functional printing technologies. The course was attended by teachers from Salesianos Pamplona and employees from companies such as Falcón Electrónica, Layme, Waterpack, MC3, Rotimpres, AIMPLAS, and the Functional Printing Cluster.

The course was taught by Fernando Varela, a PhD with extensive experience in the field of printed electronics.

Course Overview:
The 15-hour training program was designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to understand and apply functional printing in academic and industrial environments. The curriculum was structured into three key modules:

  1. Generation of Files for Functional Printing – Focused on PCB design, manufacturing processes, and adaptation of design files for different functional printing techniques.
  2. Hybridization of Printed Circuits – Explored the integration of conventional electronic components onto flexible and rigid substrates.
  3. Digital Manufacturing of Printed Circuit Boards – Provided insights into digital inkjet printing and its applications in printed electronics.

Hands-on Training and Practical Applications
Participants engaged in practical exercises, software demonstrations, and case studies, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of functional printing technologies. The course emphasized real-world applications, allowing attendees to explore innovative approaches to circuit design and hybridization.

Looking Forward
The INFINITE project remains committed to advancing training in functional printing and electronics. Future courses and workshops will continue to provide cutting-edge expertise, bridging the gap between education and industry.
