INFINITE Trainings at PRINSE’26: Turning Trainers into Printing Experts

On 28–29 January, the PrintoCent Industry Seminar PRINSE’26 took place in Oulu, bringing together international experts, companies and educators from the Printed Intelligence ecosystem. Embedded within this dynamic setting, PrintoCent and OAMK organised two INFINITE training sessions, focusing on roll-to-roll and screen printing technologies.

Within just two intensive days, participating trainers and technical staff deepened their expertise in industrially relevant printing processes, strengthening the competence base that INFINITE aims to build across Europe.

In the screen-printing training, participants learned the essential principles of the process before printing their own sensor structures. They also examined the quality of the printed layers using simple but effective characterisation methods. The roll-to-roll training provided valuable insights into scalable manufacturing processes, exposing participants to industrial-level production concepts.

Beyond the technical sessions, the seminar reinforced the broader relevance of printed and flexible electronics. The programme opened with success stories demonstrating how printed intelligence is already improving people’s lives. Presentations highlighted applications in health, diagnostics, wearables and energy as well as emerging opportunities in unmanned aerial systems and defence.

These examples clearly illustrated why competence building is so critical: the technology is advancing rapidly, and industry demand for skilled professionals continues to grow.

By hosting INFINITE trainings within PRINSE’26, the consortium ensured direct interaction between educators and industry actors. This close connection to real industrial challenges is essential for aligning vocational education with evolving market needs.

PRINSE’26 once again showed that innovation and skills development must go hand in hand — and INFINITE is proud to contribute to this growing European ecosystem.
